| Materials: | 2 ball Karabella's Aurora Bulky in Black 1, 1 ball in Gray 13 and 1 ball in Cream 3. Choose colors to match your team, we used Chicago White Sox. |
| Gauge: | 3.5 sts = 1" and 5 rows = 1" |
| Needle: | #10 US needle or size to obtain gauge, 16" circular and Double point needles. |
| Sizes: | 17" ( 19", 21", 22") Hat is very stretchy. |
| To Make Hat: Cast on 60 ( 66, 72, 78 ) stitches in Cream. Join and work in * P1, K1 * ribbing for 7 rounds. Switch to Gray and work 3 more rounds in * P1, K1 * ribbing. Next Round: Change to main pattern * P1, K9 (K10, K11, K12), repeat from * to end of round. Work 6 more rows in this pattern in Gray. Next Round: Swtich to Black and continue in pattern. When Hat measures 6" ( 6", 6 1/2", 7" ) overall, start decreasing for crown of hat. Next Round: *P1, SSK, K7 ( K8, K9, K10 ), K2tog, repeat from * to end of round. Work 1 round even. Next Round: *P1, SSK, K5 ( K6, K7, K8 ) , K2tog, repeat from * to end of round. Work 1 round even. Next Round: *P1, SSK, K3 ( K4, K5, K6 ), K2tog, repeat from * to end of round. Work 1 round even. Next Round: *P1, SSK, K1 ( K2, K3, K4 ), K2tog, repeat from * to end of round. Work 1 round even. Break yarn. Weave tail through remaining stitches. Weave in all ends. Turn Hat right side out. Note: Hat is worked inside out. The outside of the finished hat will be reverse stockinette (purl side out) with a single knit stitch rib. The hat is worked this way to avoid purling the whole hat. |
